The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) in Siliguri, West Bengal, which is well-connected to major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai. From NJP, you can take a taxi or bus to Gangtok and then proceed to Lachung and then to Sanlaphu Lake.
